The ‘bladder sensor’ finds its way to hospitals

A portable bladder sensor for children who suffer from unwanted leakage of urine finds its way to hospitals and care institutions in cities such as Nijmegen, Utrecht and Zwolle. Several hundred of this Nijmegen invention will be sold this year, says Novioscan director Rob Tweehuysen. This Nijmegen start-up is the developer of the bladder sensor.

Since last year, dozens of devices have been sold. Meanwhile, the Radboudumc and the Isala hospital in Zwolle are connected. But the big market is that of elderly people who are incontinent, says Tweehuysen. Novioscan is now developing a sensor for this target group. He thinks it will be on the market by mid 2021.
